Social Media + Content Assistant
Part-Time | ~15 hours/week | $300/week
Decent Bagel is looking for a part-time Social Media + Content Assistant to help turn the constant stream of ideas, footage, and behind-the-scenes moments happening around Decent into great content.
You’ll work across two connected accounts: Decent Bagel’s social channels and founder Audrey Gebhardt’s personal Instagram. Decent focuses on our food, people, shops, and personality; Audrey’s account documents the behind-the-scenes reality of owning and growing the business.
This role will focus primarily on editing and content production. You’ll work directly with Audrey to take raw footage, photos, voiceovers, ideas, and half-formed concepts and turn them into polished Reels, carousels, Stories, and other social content. You’ll occasionally help capture content in the shops or with Audrey, but you will not be responsible for documenting everything yourself.
We don’t expect extensive marketing experience or for you to independently run our social strategy. We’re looking for someone creative, organized, good at editing, and very online — someone who understands what makes content actually worth watching.
Responsibilities
Edit short-form video for Reels, Stories, and other social platforms
Turn raw footage and ideas into finished, engaging content
Create and assemble photo/carousel posts
Work across both Decent and Audrey’s accounts while maintaining a distinct voice and style for each
Help brainstorm hooks, formats, storytelling approaches, and new content ideas
Occasionally capture photo/video content in the shops or with Audrey when needed
Organize raw footage, photos, drafts, and finished content
Keep up with social trends and identify the ones that actually make sense for us
Participate in a weekly check-in with Audrey to plan and review content
What We're Looking For
You do not need to be a professional social media manager.
We care much more about whether you have a strong instinct for social content: pacing, hooks, storytelling, humor, visuals, and what makes someone stop scrolling or send something to a friend.
You should be organized, dependable, comfortable working independently, open to feedback, and excited to experiment.
Experience with CapCut, Edits, Canva, photography, videography, or content creation is a plus. Show us what you can make.
Compensation + Benefits
$300/week | Approximately 15 hours/week
Hours are flexible and the majority of editing can be done remotely. Some in-person time at Decent Bagel or with Audrey will occasionally be needed for content capture.
Benefits include shift meals, unlimited drip coffee + lemonade while working, 25% off at Decent Bagel Boulder + Nederland, invitations to staff events and trips, and room for the role, hours, and compensation to grow over time.
We are committed to keeping the workload sustainable. If the role consistently requires more than the hours allocated, we will adjust the responsibilities, hours, or compensation rather than expecting you to absorb the additional work.
How to Apply
Email Audrey at hello@decentbagel.com with your resume and a short note about why you think you’d be a good fit. Use the subject line “Social Media Assistant” so we know what to look for.
Because this is a social media job: include 2–3 Instagram or TikTok accounts whose content you genuinely love and tell us what you think they do well.
If you have examples of videos, social content, photography, or other creative work you’ve made, send those too.
We’ll respond to applicants within 48 hours.
